25 victories for our movement
Dear Luis, Last night, voters across the country rejected Donald Trump. Republicans were swept out of offices, even from deep-red districts. Within this seismic shift, the Palestine movement saw the election of pro-Palestine candidates up and down the ballot. Including the historic victory of Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate. Millions of people voted for an affordability agenda, and rejected the tens of billions in military funding and weapons the U.S. sends to fuel Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. This morning, JVP Action is celebrating twenty-five victories across the country. Our movement achieved wins up and down the ballot — and we are setting ourselves up for the fight ahead in the 2028 Presidential elections. Now is the moment when we must finally stop the flow of funding and weapons to Israel’s genocide. Will you donate today so that we can keep supporting our JVP Action Road to Power slate of pro-Palestine champions? |
Twenty-five victories across the country. |
As the Israeli government continues its genocide and apartheid, the political establishment in the U.S. has refused to listen to the overwhelming number of constituents demanding that we stop arming Israel. Last night, voters took action. People across the country showed they want elected officials who will unapologetically champion working people, embrace bold progressive politics, and who will work to stop genocide and war.
Abdul El-Sayed was JVP Action’s first-ever Senate endorsement. We mobilized our members to knock on thousands of doors and called tens of thousands of voters as part of this historic grassroots campaign. We organized alongside a multiracial, cross-class movement in Michigan that overcame hundreds of millions of dollars, Islamophobia, and fearmongering.
In Rhode Island, Providence became the first city to pass a binding divestment law by popular vote and will be the largest city in the U.S. to divest from Israel. We raised nearly $20,000 for JVP-Providence’s campaign, building on over ten months of organizing in coalition with other groups. The campaigns may be over, but our work is not. Will you donate today so we can keep supporting our JVP Action Road to Power electeds? |
Elections are just one part of the fight. |
Elections are just one part of the fight as we organize to end U.S. support for Israel. Last night, we helped to elect 25 more candidates who will head to office to vote against weapons sales, fight against military funding, push for divestment, and protect the Palestinian liberation movement from censorship and attack. These wins would not have been possible without volunteer, grassroots energy. Our members poured countless hours calling into voters or knocking on doors, welcoming new volunteers into our movement, and pushing back against weaponized antisemitism in the media. And these structures were only in place because of decades of organizing. Whether leading boycotts, launching divestment campaigns, protesting on college campuses, or mobilizing in the street - each of our organizing tactics feeds into one another. This morning I hope you’ll take a moment to feel some of the change that is underway. Then, let’s plan how our movements can use this momentum — the most pro-Palestine cohort coming into Congress that we’ve ever had. The tides are turning. Stop arming Israel. Free Palestine. Onwards in solidarity, Beth Miller
