The biggest pro-Palestine caucus in Congress we’ve ever seen
Hi Kathryn, Today I'm heartened by the powerful victories of pro-Palestine candidates in the U.S. midterm elections. Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed is one of the many bold progressive leaders we’ve endorsed who’s now headed to Congress. I’m reminded of our North Star goal to end all U.S. complicity in Israel’s genocidal violence. Not just the $3.8 billion blank check that the U.S. writes out to Israel every year, which even Trump recognizes is so unpopular that it’s become a “bad talking point” with U.S. voters.1 I’m talking about ending all forms of U.S. complicity—all weapons shipments, military funding, bonds, diplomatic support, and partnership—and blocking the U.S.-Israel military integration. We’re closer than ever. You’ve helped elect the most pro-Palestine representatives in Congress, with victories in Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and more. USCPR Action is proud to have had 11 of our endorsed candidates win their election. Your organizing and support made these victories happen. It is truly remarkable—in 2027, we’ll have many more members of Congress who support an immediate arms embargo to block all U.S. weapons shipments and military funding to Israel. Each new voice brings us one step closer to blocking the bombs. It brings us closer to ending the genocide that still persists. It brings us closer to ensuring that Palestinians achieve their right to live in freedom and safety. And each step toward blocking the bombs brings us closer to achieving liberation for all. It means you've disrupted a racist political system that has dehumanized Palestinians and armed the Israeli state to kill them for decades. Now you can help power our movement forward as we harness this election momentum to end all forms of U.S. complicity in Israel’s genocidal violence, once and for all. |

As the new Congress gets sworn in this January, we will demand that they stop arming Israel and pass the Block the Bombs Act ASAP. And we believe this is possible. All of these wins were made possible by the collective action you’ve taken with USCPR Action this past year: - You’ve collectively sent 220,000 advocacy emails and made 7,000 phone calls to Congress through USCPR Action tools.
- You drove 83 House Representatives to cosponsor the Block the Bombs Act, which would cut off major weapons for the Israeli military. In the 120th Congress, let’s double down and push for a vote to pass it.
- Hundreds of you volunteered on over 20 phonebanks to stop the deadly integration of the U.S. and Israeli militaries in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which will soon come to a floor vote.
- Last week you mailed over 1,700 letters to tell the Senate Armed Services Committee to stop the Deadly Merger.
- Your support helped power the launch of the Stop Arming Israel Coalition, with over 60 national organizations and local groups united in our goal to stop arming Israel and fund our communities.
More than any one statistic, Kathryn, 2026 was the year that public officials finally started to pay attention to public opinion on genocide. They’ve been forced to reckon with our movement’s demands and the will of their constituents, who want to to stop funding genocide and endless wars with our tax dollars. We live in the belly of the beast of the U.S. empire, which has fueled Israel’s horrific genocide and apartheid regime against the Palestinian people every step of the way. It is incumbent on each one of us in this movement to do all that we can to end it. The tables have turned as Palestine wins at the polls and our increasingly popular demand to stop arming Israel becomes unavoidable. Everyone who's called, phonebanked, protested, disrupted, joined a campaign, fought for local divestment, and donated to USCPR Action has helped us get here. |
Together, we can and we will build a future of Palestinian freedom and collective liberation. As the dust settles on yesterday’s election results, it’s clear our movement made many of yesterday’s wins possible and will only continue to grow and exercise our power in 2027 and 2028.
