Hi Kathryn,   The world has again seen what Palestinians in the West Bank face every day from settler colonial violence—and this time, an NBC foreign correspondent and crew were targeted, too. A group of masked and armed Israeli settlers attacked while NBC was interviewing a 51-year-old Palestinian woman, Aida Ahmed Abdullah, near Nablus. The settlers beat them with sticks and pummelled Aida until they knocked her unconscious.1   The genocide against the Palestinian people, the United States’ dangerous war on Iran, and Israel’s apartheid regime—our movement is fighting to end all of these atrocities, and we’ve never been closer. The U.S. and Israel want to integrate their military systems to produce deadly weapons and technology together. This Deadly Merger is buried inside the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which Congress will vote on again soon.2 Watch this explainer video from Palestinian content creator Salma Shawa.   The U.S. bombed a wedding among multiple attacks on Kuhestak, Iran, near the Strait of Hormuz, as captured in video footage and eyewitness accounts.3   The U.S. House of Representatives passed a dangerous anti-BDS bill that would penalize universities that engage in boycotts of Israel, with 33 Democrats shamefully voting alongside Republicans.4 This bill is not yet law as it heads to the Senate next.   A federal judge ruled that the Trump administration violated international students’ constitutional rights by trying to deport them for their free speech on Palestine.5   The Trump administration tried to block the release of Palestine activist and photojournalist Ya’akub Vijandre, who’s been locked up by ICE for nearly a year, but a federal judge granted his right to challenge his detention.6 WATCH THIS EXPLAINER VIDEO ON THE U.S.-ISRAEL MILITARY MERGER YOUR IMPACT

The Block the Bombs Act, a critical piece of legislation that would block major weapons to Israel, has 81 cosponsors and counting in the House of Representatives.7   For last week’s Stop the Deadly Merger Week of Action, 78 volunteers for USCPR Action, Adalah Justice Project, DSA, and more partners made over 10,000 calls to supporters, patched through 318 constituents to strategically targeted members of Congress who could move the needle in this fight, and recruited 161 additional volunteers. Join the next phonebank to keep building this momentum.   Our sibling organization USCPR joined National Nurses United to say Palantir OUT of our community, with hundreds of nurses who protested and halted traffic in eight cities.
