Candidates who center Palestinian liberation, refuse corporate PAC money, and support centering affordable housing, healthcare, and food at home instead of funding for war crimes abroad are winning elections.    It's hard not to read what's happening in Congress as a response to that momentum. Buried inside this year's NDAA is a provision that would deepen the integration of the US and Israeli militaries, the kind of quiet, high stakes move that tends to happen only when the people in power funding this war start feeling the ground shift under them.   That’s why USCPR Action and partners are launching the Stop the Deadly Merger Week of Action, August 24–30, to make sure Congress hears exactly how many of us there are.     Wherever you live, whatever amount of time you have, we need your contributions to our week of action. See how you can get involved here. Israel is trucking millions of tons of rubble out of Gaza, including from cemeteries and sites where human remains are still buried. Human rights groups say Israel is destroying evidence of war crimes and reshaping the map to keep Palestinians from returning home.1 Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said Israeli forces should kill “30 or 40” people in Gaza every night, telling a former Israeli captive that Palestinians in Gaza “are not even people.” Ben-Gvir sits on Israel's security cabinet.2 Netanyahu rejected Trump's own 15 point Gaza plan, refusing to withdraw Israeli forces. Trump's envoy Jared Kushner said the US won't allow Gaza to be rebuilt, even as Israel continues bombing Palestinians.3 Israel's military has now admitted its forces fired on 5-year-old Hind Rajab and the paramedics who tried to save her. New polling proves what we already knew: 61% of voters oppose the Pentagon spending bill provision that would deepen the integration of Israeli weapons companies into the US military at a level higher than any other country's, exactly the NDAA language we are fighting to strip out.5 The same poll found 52% of voters support Congress cutting weapons funding to Israel. Our message is landing and the tide is turning.6 Florida Democrats picked their U.S. Senate nominee this week: our endorsed candidate, Angie Nixon, who built her campaign on the idea that our tax dollars should fund healthcare and childcare instead of bombs on Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran. In another Florida race this week, Oliver Larkin ran on workers' rights and Palestinian liberation with no corporate PAC money and didn't win, but built a base of organizers who are still part of this movement.7 CHECK OUT OUR CONGRESS SCORECARD WHAT YOU CAN DO NEXT

Join the nationwide Stop the Deadly Merger Week of Action, August 24–30, and fight back against these dangerous efforts to deepen the integration of the U.S. and Israeli war machines. Let’s make our voices impossible to ignore while members of Congress are back in their home states and districts. Find resources and register your action. Join union nurses, patients, and community allies mobilizing in eight cities on Thursday, August 27, to demand hospitals, elected officials, and the government cut ties with Palantir. The tech giant's surveillance and data systems fuel ICE raids and mass detention, while the company also profits off automating unsafe hospital staffing.8  Please support a member of our extended community, Iemad Saifo, as his family fights to stay together after an ICE kidnapping. He is a cherished community elder, caregiver for his disabled child, and owner of Zena's restaurant named after his beloved daughter and caregiver. Community organizing and legal support got him out of the notoriously harmful Delaney Hall ICE detention center, but he continues to fight for his freedom on bail.  Demand the release of Sama Safi, a Palestinian American woman kidnapped by Israeli military while she was visiting the West Bank.  She is at risk of "severe inflammatory relapse, progressive organ damage…and potentially life-threatening repercussions."9 JOIN THE WEEK OF ACTION
